I have this childhood memory / impression of futurism in the 1960's - the beautiful space-age archtecture in shopping malls and homes, sleek candy-colored cars with wings, and bold advertisements trying to tempt you with friendly cartoon characters. But at the same time the paint was starting to chip away on that tomorrowland world. It was growing older and starting to loose it's promise of perfection. But somehow that entropy seemed more beautiful to me than the sterility of being new and perfect. I saw this disintegrating billboard when I was on a road trip through Florida years ago. A faded brand was still clinging dearly trying to cheer out it's message. It was hauntingly beautiful and became the inspiration of this piece based on some 1960's magazine advertisements and grafitti.

This is a really fantastic piece. I like the color/bw contrast and the use of words. Very nice.
