Experiments in my continuing obsession with prime numbers, cryptography and abstracted patterns. Whenever I make pieces like this I keep feeling like Richard Dreyfus in "Close Encounters" as he is trying to explain why the shapes he is obsessed to create "mean something" that he can't put into words. I sometimes wonder if in our cultural unconscious we have insights into the architecture and math of things, of the universe, and sometimes we get flashes of these insights without the conscious construct to be able to mentally metabolize them so we are forced to either ignore these impulses or translate them into objects and artifacts to use as clues.

I really like your work...you speak of "cultural unconscious" and the "math of things, of the universe" and this makes me consider more deeply my own profound sense of the importance of "connections" and "balance" in the Natural World....a kind of PRE-cultural unconscious....Maybe the two are connected (or possibly opposite sides of the same coin) and serve to counter-balance one another? Perhaps also, a major problem for "Modern Mankind" is that these two uncoscious elements are gradually becoming more and more dislocated within us....but then, perhaps not!
